The three officer positions are all running unopposed.  The Executive Board positions need to be voted on.  Below is the campaign bio submitted by each candidate.

ERICK CORPORAN:

My name is Erick Corporan, I started working here at Fox 5 as a Broadcast Engineer in March of 2021 but I have also work on any major broadcast project in the building, as a contractor, since 2010. Projects that include building a new control room, TOC, Ingest, Master Control, and Router upgrade. I believe I will be a great candidate for Executive board member because of my knowledge and experience here related to how everything works together as a system. As you may know, our management leadership is closely in communication with us in maintenance due to all of moving parts and I believe it will be beneficial to have an engineer involved in negotiating. My main focus will be to come up with ways that we can further benefit the company and in return negotiate for more money for our next contract.

Regina Leader McKinnis

Greetings Union Sisters and Brothers,

As an active member of  IATSE Local 794 for 35 years, it is imperative for me to uphold and stand up for the contract rules and regulations that began to be formulated in 1945 at this Union's inception.  The union was formulated to protect employee rights and enable us to exist and operate in a fair and safe environment with proper compensation.

I would appreciate your consideration for my representation for another term, as an executive board member who is concerned about all engineering departments which include Editing, Maintenance, Master Control,  Photographers, Studio  and TOC personnel to hear your job related issues.  Together we can improve our work environment better.

Fraternally Submitted,

Regina Leader McKinnis

Jimmy McLoughlin

I started working at Fox 5 in May of 2016. December of that year, I was assigned to Long Island where I’ve been the full-time photographer for the past 7 years.

Outside of work, I am a firefighter/EMT with the Sound Beach Fire Department in Suffolk County. This year I was elected as one of the Assistant Chiefs. I live with my girlfriend Rachel, my best friend Alex, and Josie, our 3-legged cat.

While I may not know many of you personally, if elected, I look forward to getting to know everyone better in this active role within the union.

John Petrini

I have worked at WNYW for 35 years, starting with the 10pm News and now with Good Day doing a variety of positions.  I’m a good people person and can help put you on the right track on getting you the information you need.   I’m familiar with the management and the on-going situation in the building and the contract. I can help guide you and the Union in the future.

Naadine Sardi

I'm running for e-board again this year because we have a big contract coming up again and I will make it my mission that we don't go another 16 years without a raise, and what little contract we have left doesn't get tentatively agreed upon away. That has put some old timers in a position that they can't retire as they had planned, or have a lot less money to retire on because of the financial hit they've taken as a result of that stance, I don't want NEW members to be faced with that down the line. I don't suffer BS and always speak my mind and the mindset of the membership.

I also think it's imperative that members know exactly what's on the line during negotiations and think they should be apprised of everything going on before and DURING negotiations IN REAL TIME. I think myself and other e-board members should give updates everyday via the app and in person, and take your feed back to our negotiating team so that we ALL have that real time voice in our futures, plus many of you have excellent insights as to what we need.

Patti Sietz

Hi. I'm Patti Sietz-Honig. I've been an editor here at channel 5 since I was a kid...Back when we earned 6 weeks of vacation per year, took a whole paid lunch hour and numerous other real benefits.

On June 8, 1980, I had an 11:45am interview with Bill Kelly, the chief engineer, at 12:15 I was being trained in the tape room...and the rest is history.

I love what I do and I love the people I do it with every day. This career has given me great joy!!!

Negotiations are approaching and the company needs to be held to task. I want to be part of the team to help make that happen.

So PLEASE vote for me!!!
