The Administrative Law Judge ruled in our favor. The Judge found that the company significantly changed the contract without bargaining. Here's the link to the page with all the history. Most important is the Administrative Law Judge's Ruling. EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!!!!
The Union, with NLRB counsel as well as our attorney, presented its case in front of the Administrative Law Judge this week. We presented a very strong case and feel very positive about a ruling in the Union's favor. The Company tried to make a unilateral change to our contract by assigning the Public Affairs Manager to edit. That is not allowable under our agreement. We are awaiting the decision by the judge and will notify the Membership when it is reached. Please be aware that the decision can take at least 6 months.
Also, we will be meeting with Fox on March 31 and April 1st in NY to continue negotiating towards an agreement on a contract that has been open for almost 9 years.
The Negotiating Committee will continue to work towards bringing back an agreement that is fair for our Members. Unfortunately Fox doesn't seem to consider us as an integral part of these Stations and continues to try and take away our jurisdiction, vacation, sick leave benefits and severance.
These are benefits that we worked many years to earn. They are more important to us now than ever before.
Please take time to look at an email the Company sent out last November regarding the new Fox Corporate Handbook. This has replaced the "Fox Facts" handbook. It offers non union Employees increased vacation time and generous sick leave time, as well as other improved benefits.
The Company doesn't believe you deserve similar. We will work hard to convince them otherwise.
We need to stand United.
Be Proud of the work you do.
